Often when we’re writing, we try not to repeat ourselves. We look for new ways to say things, we try not to repeat phrases. But sometimes, like with “We Mistook this for the Beginning of Something” from NANO Fiction 9.2, repetition works wonders.

Write a story using repetition. Maybe you’ll repeat a word, maybe an image, maybe you’ll repeat an idea. Whatever it is, make sure you’re doing it intentionally. Read the work out loud; listen to hear that your repetition is helping to build something that makes the piece stronger.
