Let’s be honest. For many Americans, the holiday season is about two things: presents and family. Sometimes these things go well together, sometimes they don’t. (Your great aunt knit you another sweater! Your brother got the present that your parents promised you! Uncle Dan bought you a half-empty bottle of Smirnoff Ice!)
Write a story about a character who receives a gift from a family member which changes how the character feels about that person. Maybe this gift makes them feel suspicious about this family member. Or afraid. Maybe it makes them feel respect towards that family member. Or disgust. Whatever it does, make sure you show the changes that occur.
