We’re mere hours away from the end of the 2016 NANO Prize submission window!

PROMPT:

Does the idea of less than a day left to submit–or, better yet, to write your submission(s)–make your skin crawl? For this prompt, focus on what can happen in five seconds. Elongate time, shorten it, play with the conventions. Do your five seconds occur externally, or will they revolve around rumination? What would happen if two timelines collide, as they so often do in flash, in these five seconds? Is anyone in your story aware of the time passing? You have 300 words; use them wisely, and good luck.
