Dear NANO Readers,
Sad about fruit crops? Worried about political and economic instability? Does the end of the school-year lit journal opening dearth got you down? Well, remember that NANO Fiction is open year round for regular submissions, so cheer up and submit your best flash! Our Fourth Annual NANO Prize is also open for submissions, so read about that below!
TENTH ISSUE SPECTAVAGANZA
Issue 5.2 is available now, and using all of the math skills that writers are known for, we realized this is our tenth issue! So be sure to buy yourself a copy, as it features work from authors from all of our previous nine issues (Sean Lovelace! Thisbe Nissen!) as well as awesome flash by many others (James Tadd Adcox! Ashley Farmer!). Exclamation point!
2012 NANO PRIZE
The Fourth Annual NANO Prize, awarding publication and $500 to a previously unpublished work of fiction 300 words or fewer, is now open. All entrants receive a one year subscription to NANO Fiction. Winners will be announced in September. Please visit our submission manager to enter.
The entry fee is $15 for up to three shorts, which is only $3 more than a regular subscription, so it’s like you’re only paying $3 to enter.
This year the contest will be judged by Ryan Call, author of The Weather Stations and winner of a 2011 Whiting.
WEB CONTENT
While we are a print journal, we always feature weekly articles on flash, or interviews, or rants, or interactive puzzles (well, not yet, but maybe soon!) exclusively on our website, so be sure to visit nanofiction.org frequently to see what’s going on! Add us to your RSS because it’s the reasonable thing to do.
Cheers to a great summer!
