Prompt #32 — Write Like Jasmine Dreame Wagner

In Wagner’s story (view story here), the scientific idea of String Theory—that there is a potential set of equations that can link Newtonian and Particle physics thereby explaining the nature of the universe—is translated into the personal and concrete. The addressee of the story is placed in physical world of orange rinds and swords, and the links are drawn between that world and the addressee. It creates a great sense of admiration for the object of the piece; this is especially notable since the narrator is presumably omnipotent, and the second-person barely has any action.

PROMPT

Imagine a character and try to illustrate key elements of who they are by drawing connections between objects that represent elements of their personality. What might a character be like who owns a model P-51 Mustang, a life size cutout of Marilyn Monroe, and a blood stained copy of the first Cookies 45? How much can you say about a character without having them act, or even appear, in your piece?
