Five at 5 Reading Series Pt. II

5 Bar offers the best atmosphere (and drinks) for this one of a kind series featuring readers from the southern US all the way north to Canada. The readings will be short and sweet, so drive on down (or up) and join us!

October Readers

Garrett Ashley is a student in the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi. His work has appeared in Asimov’s Science Fiction, PANK, Juked, and The &Now Awards 2: Best Innovative Writing.

Cian Cruise was born in Kingston, Ontario, Dominion of Canada during a hurricane. His writing has appeared in Little Brother, Bygone Bureau, and NANO Fiction, among others. He was shortlisted for the CBC Autobiography Challenge, and works for The Lavin Agency. He doesn’t like music. His website is ciancruise.com.

Amy McDaniel lives in Atlanta, GA with her dog, Annette. Her stories, poems, and essays have appeared in Tin House, PANK, The Agriculture Reader, Saveur, Alimentum, and elsewhere. Selected Adult Lessons, her chapbook, came out in 2010 from Agnes Fox Press and promptly sold out.

Jared Yates Sexton is an assistant professor of Creative Writing at Georgia Southern University and the managing editor of the literary magazine BULL. His first book, An End To All Things, is available from Atticus Books.

Elizabeth Wade grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL, received degrees from Davidson College and the University of Alabama, and now teaches at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. Her work has appeared in such journals as Kenyon Review Online, Brevity, and The Rumpus.
