Prompt #65

Writing is all about observing our fellow human beings. Curiosity and empathy about people’s individual stories and experiences are vital to the creative imagination. The most important–and one of the most difficult–challenges for a writer is to inhabit the mind of a character without judging their actions.

PROMPT:

Write about an experience from your life when you had a disagreement or conflict with another person. Now, write about the experience from the other person’s point of view instead of your own. How can you express the person’s personality and humanity without judging them? You can change the scenario as much as you need to–after all, this is fiction. But challenge yourself to sympathize with a person you never imagined sympathizing with.
