Prompt #21

Most restaurants are said to fail within the first year they open. Write a story (in 300 words or less!) about one of these sinking ships. Is the restaurant run by a family? Who is the restaurant supposed to cater to? What has gone wrong? Are there rats in the kitchen? Waiters too drunk and high to work? Does the chef have anger issues? Does she often pluck out hairs to put in the soup? What’s at stake for the owners, and for the staff? Make us taste the desperation, just don’t make us taste the food.
